A message to you

Believe it or not, I use to be just like you. I struggled with understanding a subject that I did not like. During my high school years, math was very challenging due to the fact that I had to move and switch schools after the impact that Hurricane Katrina made on my life.

I was already behind in the subject and there wasn't enough time to get additional help after school. I use to ride the school bus and my mother could not afford tutoring for me. Instead of feeling sorry for myself and let my grade slip away, I did the only thing I could do at the time...I tutored myself. I practiced extra hours at home after school, doing problem after problem until formulas were stuck in my head. I took it upon myself to stay after school and practice more with my teachers even though I didn't have a ride home. I made those choices so that one day I can be able to share that knowledge with others who aren't able to help themselves.

I had a helpful teacher who was dedicated to seeing me succeed. She encouraged me enough to enter a literary rally during my senior year in high school. Reluctant at first, I decided to give it a shot. I didn't think I had anything to lose because I didn't think that I would win. I entered the competition under the subject of Advanced Math II and I was extremely nervous. I had never entered into any competition so I did not know what to expect. My teacher told to remain calm and just utilize what I've learned, and so I did. After the test, the judge had announced that I placed first in the competition and I received a gold medal and was also featured in the school and town newspaper. I never though that could happen to me, but it did, and I can assure you that it can happen for you also!

I know situations are different, and I also know what it's like to get frustrated with trying to learn things. That's why I'm here to help. Nothing special, however, I do my best to break the language of math down to a concept that is easy to understand to everyone. Everyone learns differently, so I tailor my approach to the learning abilities of my students. That way we both learn something new and we're able to challenge each other. I don't want to see others struggle as I did, and with my help, you can be assured that you will succeed. It takes practice, it takes patience, and most importantly, it takes persistence!

Let me help you, and together, we will soar beyond the limits. I hope to see you soon!
